Positive Reports Emerge After Sebastian Vettel’s First Aston Martin Factory Visit: ‘Feels at Home’
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Aston Martin have always relied on the logic of providing their drivers with the best internal atmosphere to retrieve energetic on-track performances out of them. Did that work out with the new-comer, Sebastian Vettel? Well, turns out it did. The German had a rather treacherous couple of seasons at Ferrari over 2019 and 2020. His confidences took frequent hits through the two years, with the first one striking the German when Charles Leclerc joined the team. The Monegasque outperformed Vettel over most of the race weekends. (Photo by Charles Coates/Getty Images)Later on, amid constantly ending up behind Leclerc, Ferrari scrapped Vettel off the ‘number 1 driver’ tag. Then came the shocking news of the Italian team terminating their relationship with the four-time world champion. Such massive blows may have led to the disappearance of Vettel’s actual racing ability and making him look more like an amateur. Well, worry no more. Sport1 alleges that the older version of Sebastian Vettel could return to the paddock soon. Apparently, Vettel is already ‘feeling good’ at home at Aston Martin. Furthermore, he is also convinced of the team’s potential following his brief visit to the headquarters. During the visit, he spoke to every single engineer working in the team. Not just the engineers, but the management as well. Vettel had long chats with Otmar Szafnauer and technical director, Andrew Green. And following the talks, he hailed the team as a “great group“. Sebastian Vettel regaining the ‘feel-good’ factor Vettel joined the team for the first time during the seat fitting and eventually left for his home in Switzerland. However, due to the lockdown citing the COVID-19 wildfire in England, the German could not travel often to his team’s headquarters, situated in Gaydon. Hence, until England is clear of the coronavirus fear, Vettel will constantly be in touch with his team via video conferencing and e-mail. Furthermore, the former Ferrari driver has been preparing hard for the upcoming season at home with his Swedish trainer, Antti Kontsas. This clearly portrays the German’s enthusiasm over his new expedition with the world-famous team, Aston Martin. Hence, this hints at the Stroll-led team’s goal in reviving Vettel’s form panning out perfectly. Even Otmar Szafnauer, Aston Martin’s team principal, mentioned providing the two drivers with the tools they require and opined that their desired results will follow naturally. For both of them,” he said. “If we can do these things, I think the points, the podiums, and the victories will come naturally.” Overall, will Aston Martin manage to lift Vettel’s spirits and revive his incredible ‘Red Bull‘ form, consequently helping the German return to his winning ways? Well, let’s see what the future holds. Read More: Why Sebastian Vettel Insists on Labelling his Ferrari F1 Stint a ‘Failure’

‘Everything He Does Turns to Gold’ – Ex-F1 Team Boss Tips Stroll to Transform Aston Martin
By admin | | 0 Comments |

F1 enthusiasts have many things they will look forward to this season, and Aston Martin will certainly be among them. One very significant personality who has played a part in driving the outfit to this level is Lawrence Stroll. The Canadian billionaire took over a team that was effectively in administration and gave it the identity of Racing Point. In a matter of just two seasons, the ‘Pink Panthers’ have become among the most efficient teams on the grid. Speaking in an interview, former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan had some words of praise for Stroll. He believes that the 61-year-old is currently the ‘smartest instrument’ in the sport at the moment. Lawrence Stroll has been a revelation, explains former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan Jordan stated, “Never, ever rule out the father, Lawrence Stroll. He has that Midas touch, everything he does he turns to gold. He is the smartest instrument in Formula 1 at the moment, without any question.” Under the leadership of Stroll, Racing Point have emerged from lower midfield contenders to become favorites in the top three battle. The win from Sergio Perez in Sakhir put the icing on a cake that has displayed a solid foundation and an industrious spirit. Everything he does turns to gold, whether it’s Michael Kors, whether it’s Tommy Hilfiger, whether it’s the fragrance brand, whether it’s a jeans company. Everything that he does,” concluded Jordan. Could Aston Martin F1 target a top-two finish under Stroll’s guidance? Naturally, with the recruitment of Sebastian Vettel and a new rebrand, Stroll would expect to see further improvements from the team in 2021. He has also seen so much of his vision come true so far, with Aston Martin now a key contender for P3 alongside McLaren. Displacing Red Bull from that predicted position would be a tough job, but that will always serve as motivation. Therefore, Aston Martin will continue improving and fighting, with a dedicated leader like Stroll at the helm. Additionally, with his ‘Midas touch,’ he will hope that the team’s fortunes can increase multifold in the near future. Sebastian Vettel Dazzles Aston Martin With His Impressive Technical F1 Skills
By admin | | 0 Comments |

These are exciting times for the Aston Martin F1 team. Not only will compete in 2021 having taken the most significant leap in terms of performance last season, but also with the four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel, behind the wheel of their car. The German is truly a coup for them – aside from his sheer driving ability, he’s a keen learner who takes notes right after a race instead of heading for the airport. His thirst to understand every single detail of the car is second to none on the grid. Formula One F1 – Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, United Arab Emirates – December 12, 2020 Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel FIA/Handout via REUTERSTeam principal Otmar Szafnauer thinks his acquisition is like gaining an engineer in the team – “He asked all the right questions and a lot of them. He’s really hungry for knowledge.” “An engineer described Sebastian to me as [like] having a performance engineer behind the wheel. He wants to know as much, if not more than the performance engineer you have working on the car, whose job it is to understand every little aspect of car performance. Seb wants to know that much – plus more,” Szafnauer continued. “That’s a good trait to have, he has that, he carried that with him to our team. We see it and he is really, really hungry, as he said, to have fun again in Formula 1.” But can the speed of Sebastian Vettel emulate his engineering skills? The German is under intense pressure after having a torrid end with Ferrari. Though there are no question marks on his work ethic, his reputation as a racer is in tatters. Hence, many in the paddock believe he is past his prime. However, Szafnauer is confident in the abilities of his marquee driver – “The way I look at it is at 33 years old you don’t forget how to drive a Formula 1 racing car fast… Seb is very experienced but not over the hill by any means at the age of 33.” LE CASTELLET, FRANCE – Owner of Racing Point Lawrence Stroll and Otmar Szafnauer, Team Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Racing Point walks in the Paddock before final practice for the F1 Grand Prix of France at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. (Photo by Charles Coates/Getty Images)Lawrence Stroll is providing Vettel with a new lease of life at Aston Martin. It is the best possible scenario for him after the season he’s had along with minimal vacancy at other outfits. Should he take them into a different stratosphere this season, he will silence his critics. Read More – Sebastian Vettel: The Heartwarming Story Behind His Love for Engineering in F1

‘Win, Win and Win’: Szafnauer Names His 3 Wishes for Aston Martin Ahead of ’21 F1 Season
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Aston Martin is making its highly expected return to Formula One after an absence of 60 years. They enter the sport as the new face of the Silverstone-based Racing Point F1 team.  Notably, the British unit had been a perennial mid-field team, raking up the odd podium. However, they finally got their first race victory with former driver Sergio Perez winning at the Sakhir Grand Prix in 2020. Coming back to their much-awaited return, team Principal Otmar Szafnauer feels very upbeat about the car designed for the 2021 season. He has three wishes for the upcoming season, which he revealed in an interview. Szafnauer thinks Aston Martin should aim to be consistent throughout the season When asked about his three wishes for the upcoming season, Aston Martin boss Szafnauer replied in jest, “3 wins- win, win and win.”  On a serious note, he said, “The realistic 3 wishes for us is to compete consistently at the level we’re capable of. To have good reliability to be able to do that.” SOCHI, RUSSIA – SEPTEMBER 29: Owner of Racing Point Lawrence Stroll and Otmar Szafnauer, Team Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Racing Point talk in the Paddock before the F1 Grand Prix of Russia at Sochi Autodrom on September 29, 2019 in Sochi, Russia. (Photo by Charles Coates/Getty Images)He substantiated further, “Extract the most out of the car and make sure that we give the drivers, not just the car but the environment, the tools everything they need to be at their best, both of them.  The Romanian believes that if these criteria are met, the podiums and the wins would automatically materialize. Aston Martin’s goal for the 2021 season Aston Martin enters the 2021 season, having rebranded from Racing Point. The Silverstone-based team have completely changed everything from changing up the driver lineup to changing the livery. They have brought in Sebastian Vettel to help them make a great start in F1. In fact, they feel that the German can also act as an on-track engineer, in addition to being a crucial driver. Moreover, the German can also resurrect his career in a completely different environment. (Photo by Giuseppe Cacace – Pool/Getty Images)If you ask this author, Aston Martin will be one of the dark horses for the upcoming 2021 season. The British team can finish anywhere between second to sixth in the Constructor’s Championship. They can look to take advantage in a season where many teams could take their eye off the ball. Many teams will look towards 2022, as that will even out the playing field. Aston Martin have a Mercedes engine, which will act as a great advantage. They should look to hone the power it offers and be in the reckoning for a few race victories.
