By admin | | 0 Comments |

Follow Us On Pakistan and South Africa have announced the schedule for the limited-overs series in April, comprising three ICC Cricket World Cup Super League ODIs and four T20Is. The tour is scheduled to run from 02 April to 16 April 2021, with Pakistan arriving in South Africa on 26 March before the first game when they will enter a bio-secure environment (BSE) in Gauteng. They will go into a period of quarantine before commencing with inter-squad training. Pakistan’s tour of South Africa was initially scheduled to comprise just three T20Is, but after a request from Cricket South Africa, the series will now comprise four T20Is, with the first two matches being played in Johannesburg, followed by two T20Is in Pretoria. Before the T20Is get underway on 10 April, a three-match ODI series will be played between the sides from 2 April. A part of the Men’s CWC Super League, the first and third ODIs will be played in Pretoria, with Johannesburg hosting the second ODI on 4 April. “We are delighted to finally confirm the dates and full schedule for Pakistan’s white-ball tour to South Africa,” commented CSA Director of Cricket, Graeme Smith. “Pakistan has proved their status over the years as one of the most dangerous limited-overs teams and I’m sure they will give the Proteas a stern test on the Highveld. We will also have the much-anticipated ‘Betway Pink ODI’ take place during the tour and that is something further to look forward to for the players, the fans and all those associated with this iconic day,” he added. “We are grateful to the PCB for agreeing to our request within a short period of time to increase the length of the trip by adding in a fourth T20, which will give us some much-needed additional international content,” he said. PCB Director of International Cricket, Zakir Khan added, “We are delighted to help assist our fellow member countries in their plight to survive. We all have a collective responsibility to look after the game and its welfare together as ICC Members.” “South Africa and Pakistan’s relationship is a long-standing and mutually valued one, and it was an easy decision for us to accommodate their request. We’re all looking forward to a successful tour,” he added. IND vs ENG | Have played around the world but winning the Chennai Test incomparable, insists Jofra Archer
By admin | | 0 Comments |

England's Jofra Archer tasted success in his very first Asia Test in India, which is rare, and the pacer has admitted that nothing compares to this win having played all around the world. He also termed the fifth day Chennai surface the worst he has seen, though he expected more fight from India.Winning in India remains the biggest challenge for Test teams in world cricket. No other team even comes close to India's crazy home record. They last lost a Test series in 2012/13 while, overall, they have only lost two Test series since the start of the century. In the last decade, Team India lost only three Tests at home. So, all these stats plus the high of winning Test series Down Under with a depleted side made Virat Kohli's men the topdogs to win the first Test against England. Unlike the Australia series, however, India didn't even show any fight let alone being in game to win. England were clinical enough throughout the game and never gave India a sniff for a fightback. Jofra Archer, who was crucial in England's first innings bowling efforts, taking two wickets in his opening spell, expressed his pleasure at winning the Chennai Test, a feeling and feat which he finds 'incomparable'. "I’ve played in tournaments around the world, and had success, but winning a Test is one of those indescribable feelings, especially against a really good team. Nothing compares," Archer wrote in his column for the Daily Mail, reported HT.There was a lot of hype around the Chepauk wicket. It was heavily criticized in 2016 when it hosted India and England for being excessively flat. But this time the newly appointed curator had promised that there will be sporting wicket with English looks that will support pace bowlers on first day, followed by two batting days and then the last two days in favor of spinners. On the contrary the first two days of the Test was akin to a graveyard for bowlers. There wasn't much carry on the wicket which was slow and turned tricky and unfavorable by the time India's first innings commenced on day three. Commenting on the surface, Archer stated that it was the 'worst surface' that he had seen. He also added that he didn't expect India to surrender so quickly on final day of the Test series opener. “On the fifth day, it was probably the worst surface I’ve seen — its orange colour, bits missing, rough patches for the bowlers to aim at. When we walked out in search of nine wickets on the fifth day, I was very hopeful we would complete the job — although these India players have big reputations and are at home, so should be able to cope with conditions better than anyone. So, I didn’t expect us to skittle them. Equally, I didn’t expect it to finish not long after afternoon drinks."India will take on England in second Test in Chennai again from Saturday onwards before the Caravan moves to Ahmedabad for the last two Tests of the series. At the moment, England have a lead of 1-0.  Follow us on Facebook hereStay connected with us on Twitter hereLike and share our Instagram page here .

If he fails to produce match-winning innings, Uthappa might be forced to retire from the T20 league.Imran TahirThe 41-year-old will represent Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. Imran Tahir did not enough games in the previous season. IPL 2021 | Royal Challengers Bangalore rope in Sanjay Bangar as batting consultant
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has been appointed as the batting consultant of Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming 2021 Indian Premier League season. Bangar will work closely with Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson and Head Simon Katich during his stint with RCB.After three tough years following the final run in the 2016 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore showed a comparatively better performance in the last edition of the Indian Premier League, qualifying for the play-offs. However, their inability to hold the fort in the crucial game resulted in the side going down to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator and thus failed to make the season count. To improve the performance, RCB have roped in former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar, with whom Virat Kohli shares an amicable relationship, for the 14th edition of the league which is slated to be played in India this time.Bangar was appointed as the batting coach of India in August 2014 before he was replaced by Vikram Rathour in the aftermath of the 2019 World Cup. He has since worked as a Television expert on Star Sports and had declined an offer from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to give more time to his family. We are delighted to welcome Sanjay Bangar to the RCB Family as a batting consultant for #IPL2021! 🤩Welcome aboard, Coach! 🤜🏻🤛🏻#PlayBold #WeAreChallengers #NowARoyalChallenger pic.twitter.com/SWKLthSyXl — Royal Challengers Bangalore (@RCBTweets) February 10, 2021Earlier, before the Conflict of Interest rule came into being, Bangar had worked as the head coach of Kings XI Punjab. Reports | Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of England Test series; not to join Indian team in Ahmedabad
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Ravindra Jadeja, who suffered a finger injury during the third Test against Australia in Sydney, has been reportedly ruled out of the remainder of the Test series and will not join the Ahmedabad bubble as originally planned. He was sent to the NCA in Bengaluru for 'further management of his injury'.Over the last few years, Ravindra Jadeja has grown in stature to become one of the most important members of the Indian Test side, especially in home conditions. However, he was ruled out of the first two Tests in Chennai after dislocating his thumb during the Sydney Test against Australia. He was subsequently ruled out of the Brisbane Test was sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for 'further management of his injury'.However, Cricbuzz now reported that his injury hasn't recovered enough for him to take any part in the third and fourth Test and he is all set to set out for those two games as well. Jadeja was supposed to reach Ahmedabad early for the mandatory quarantine to be ready to join the full squad but now, in all probability, that is shelved. An official confirmation is awaited. In Jadeja's absence, India decided to go with Washington Sundar as the batting all-rounder as Axar Patel suffered a knee injury in the last moment. With Ashwin and Shahbaz Nadeem bowling in tandem with Sundar, the side had not a lot to offer in terms of variations. Kohli conceded that India will think of the combinations ahead for the second Test."There are no regrets whatsoever on that decision. Moving forward, we will think of the combinations which bring us variety as a bowling attack, and not one dimensional, turning away from the bat." the India captain said in reply to a query on Kuldeep.Interestingly, there are reports that Axar Patel has been recovered fully and joined the nets. He is one of the players, who could get the nod ahead to make his Test debut in Chennai.Follow us on Facebook hereStay connected with us on Twitter hereLike and share our Instagram page here .

Communal allegations against me are false and baseless, claims Wasim Jaffer
By admin | | 0 Comments |

After few people at Uttarakhand Cricket Association levelled communal allegation against Wasim Jaffer, who resigned from his role yesterday, the cricket has come out to defend himself. Jaffer stated that the allegations are purely false and baseless and things have been made up entirely.Yesterday, Wasim Jaffer resigned from his role as the head coach of the Uttarakhand Cricket team, calling the lack of structure in the association and unnecessary interference as the major reason behind the decision. However, there were allegations spread through news reports and social media that Jaffer needed a maulvi inside the bio-bubble and he had a bias towards Muslim players. Jaffer was stunned by the allegations and in a press conference, he refuted them all."The allegations which have been made, these are serious allegations... The communal angle that has been levelled against me, that is very very sad, that I come and speak about it... you all know me and have seen me for a long time, so you all know how I am," Jaffer said in a press conference on Wednesday."I never took any of the suggestions that were thrown at me (with regards to the batting order). All the players who played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I played them on my belief. I even dropped Samad Fallah for the last game. Had I been communal, both Samad Fallah and Mohammad Nazim would have played all the games. It's a very petty thing to say or even think. I wanted to give opportunities to newer players."The Maulavi, Maulana, who came on Friday, I had not called them and the Maulana were called by Iqbal Abdulla. He probably knew someone in Dehradun and on Friday, there is prayer in a gathering, Jumma Namaz."If I was communal, I could have kept the practise at 9 AM and could have ended it at 12 noon, so that I could go at 1.30 PM and offer Namaz as Jumma Namaz takes place at 1.30-2.00 PM. I could have done that, but everyday we used to practise around 12.00-12.30. Only for Fridays Iqbal took the permission, as there were three-four others. Only after we finished practice, only on Fridays, inside the dressing room, we offered Namaz for five minutes. Nothing happened beyond this and the bio bubble was never breached."There were rumours floating around that Jaffer asked players not to urge "Jai Shree Ram" and "Jai Hanuman" chants in team huddles but Jaffer revealed that there were never such slogans in the huddle. However, he added that he urged players to chants like 'Go Uttarakhand' or 'Let's do it Uttarakhand' or 'Come on Uttarakhand' - following the practise of Chandrakant Pandit who used to do that for Vidarbha."First all of, these slogans (Jai Shree Ram or Jai Hanuman) were not there. When we were playing practise matches, these players inside the huddle used to say 'Rani Mata Sacche Darbar Ki Jay.' I didn't hear them say Jai Hanuman, Jai Shree Ram. It is a chant of the Sikh community and we had two people from there, so they used to say that."When we reached Baroda, I said to them, we are not playing as a community, we are playing for Uttarakhand, so our slogan should be for Uttarakhand -- 'Go Uttarakhand' or 'Let's do it Uttarakhand' or 'Come on Uttarakhand' - the way Chandu Sir (Chandrakant Pandit) used to do in Vidarbha, that was the idea since the 11-12 players in the team huddle were from a different faith. The allegations are all false and baseless, if there was a communal angle, I would have told them to say Alla-o-Akbar."In his resignation letter, Jaffer had cited interference in team selection by the secretary of Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, Mahim Verma, who resigned from his role at BCCI to be in the UTCA. Jaffer, in the press conference, touched upon the issue, saying he was left out of the team selection for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and his views were not taken by the selectors."When the Syed Mushtaq Ali team was being selected, I was there with the four selectors and the CEO," he said. "The secretary wasn't there. But for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, I was neither a part of the meeting nor was it discussed with me. If Mahim Verma had taken me there to improve cricket, I needed a bit of freedom. If things have to run the way it has always been running, there was no point of me joining there.""There was a time when, over a phone call between me, the CEO, the secretary and the chief selector, Mahim Verma was making suggestions about which player should play and which player shouldn't, and I had to tell that since he doesn't understand cricket, he should leaving those decisions with me and the selectors."This (communal bias) is a serious allegation. And if there was indeed a communal bias, I wouldn't have resigned, they would have sacked me," he concluded.Follow us on Facebook hereStay connected with us on Twitter hereLike and share our Instagram page here .

IND vs ENG | If India lose second Test, Virat Kohli should give up captaincy, feels Monty Panesar
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Former English spinner Monty Panesar feels that Virat Kohli will be under pressure for his leadership while saying that if India lose the second Test, then the skipper should think of relinquishing the captaincy. Panesar further stated that India were really defensive in the first Test.India lost four games on a trot when Virat Kohli led the side, which brought the debate squarely on him. Given the way the Indian team performed in the first Test in Chennai, questions were asked if Kohli would be better placed playing purely as a batsman where he has a lot to offer to the Indian team. With Ajinkya Rahane just being off a brilliant series as captain, following a three-game unbeaten run with a depleted side, he has become a favourite among many fans and experts. Monty Panesar, who first came face to face with Kohli during the 2012 series that India went on to lose subsequently, feels that Kohli should leave the captaincy duties if India lose the second Test."Virat will be under pressure. This is an important series for him. If he loses the second Test, I think he should give up his captaincy. Because India will be down 2-0 in the series, and they should change the captain. Virat desperately needs a win or a draw. If he doesn't, it could be his last match as captain," Panesar told TimesofIndia.com.India picked Shahbaz Nadeem over Kuldeep Yadav despite the presence of a flatter bowler like Washington Sundar in the opening Test and even though the Jharkhand spinner picked up four wickets across two innings, he was conceding a lot of runs and bowled a nine-ball over due to his excessive overstepping. Panesar stated that India should've picked Kuldeep Yadav ahead of Nadeem in order to provide the bowling unit a more attacking edge."I think India went defensive in their selection policy. They should have picked Kuldeep Yadav in the first Test. He should have been included as a second spinner in place of Shahbaz Nadeem on that track. It was really surprising to see Virat not go for Kuldeep," Panesar said."That was not a good call. I think Kuldeep should have been an automatic selection. England haven't really practiced against a Chinaman bowler. So, Kuldeep would have done wonders for India. Nadeem wasn't sharp and probably was the weakest link in the team. There was no need to play Nadeem. And third and final point is India badly missed and struggled without Ravindra Jadeja. India were defensive in their approach," Panesar further added.Follow us on Facebook hereStay connected with us on Twitter hereLike and share our Instagram page here .
